First of 37
I am heading out in a couple of hours for the first of 37 Wonder Voyages this summer. I am always a little nervous at the beginning, like I am heading on stage for the first performance of some great play. That’s a good thing. Reminds me that I am not in control. Unless God meets us face to face this summer, we’re dooing nothing but providing some ultra-cool tours. I enjoy ultra-cool tours but I remember the times the Creator meets me face to face. And it is usually not when I expect it.
Leading these voyages and running such a unique organization is a priviledge I never take lightly. I have a fine staff (passionate people who love to serve others and open doors to new worlds), a loving family (who may sometimes be glad I leave for short periods) and endless possibilities ahead.
May all who are about to embark on their summer journeys listen for the whisper of Christ and have eyes to see the hand of God leading them on their boundless expeditions.
